A colossal eye asks the questions. Answer with a bullet.
Twenty questions, dawn to eclipse. Each answer rises from the sand as a monolith with a lettered seal ABCD. Shoot the seal of the right answer. Guess wrong, or let the fuse burn out, and the Proctor weeps ink: Doubts crawl out of the dunes to rattle you. A right answer dispels the Doubts around it.
The exam is paused. The fuse isn't burning.
Same questions, same four stones, one right answer. Whoever shoots it first takes it. One guess each: guess wrong and you're out of guesses for that question, and the Proctor sends a pack of Doubts after you. Run out of composure and you wait in the hallway until the next question.
